Browne was born into a family with artistic credentials and began drawing at age three. After formal studies, she moved to the well-established art colony of Provincetown, initially to study color with Henry Hensche. She has been a year-round resident since 1970. Her early years there exposed her to the influences of many dynamic living artists, inspiring her to embrace the daily life of productivity necessary to develop toward artistic maturity.
Browne’s life as an artist has manifested itself in many mediums, as she feels it satisfies a natural curiosity toward development: ceramics, printmaking, drawing, and painting.
