Lynn Fitzer’s first love as an artist is reflected in her atmospheric plein aire painting. She loves nature and being able to paint outdoors in the sun or fog, in fresh air, in the challenges of the constantly changing light and moods of the weather and the world around her. Provincetown is the perfect place to achieve this desire.
Within a few weeks of her arrival in Provincetown, she was in her first class, a plein aire class taught by Hilda Neily, Hilda’s unique style and whose eye for color and mood in the natural light of outdoor painting opened the door to a new chapter in her life. She continued studying and learning over the years with Hilda as well as the other Artists and Instructors of the Cape School of Art. She has also studied with renowned artists in other genres, Robert Henry, Jo Hay, Linda Bond through Provincetown Art Association and Museum and The Fine Arts Work Center, as well as artful pointers from her revered friend Ilona Royce-Smithkin.
Nature, joy, peace and love, the friendships and bonds painting has given is reflected in her creatively varied works of art.
