Good Morning Sunshine by John Salatte
John is a native resident of Syracuse New York.
He has studied the art of oil painting at the Rye Center for the Arts in Westchester. For the past several years he has been studying the Cape School method of painting in Provincetown Massachusetts with Hilda Neily, Rob Longley, John Clayton, Mary Giammarino and Margaret McWethy.
“While looking in the galleries in Provincetown one summer, I noticed a commonality. There were a group of artists using color to represent light and shadow. I noticed how the paintings captured the sunlight. I found myself feeling happy and cheerful while looking at them. After some investigation I learned about the Cape School of Art”.
When he is not painting, John enjoys outside activities and just spending time with his partner Adin and his French bulldog Luigi.
