Still Life in the Impressionist Tradition with Margaret McWethy, August 5-7

Students will compose and paint simple outdoor still lifes to explore the effects of sunlight on color. Emphasis will be on light keys, creating harmonies, identifying and enhancing a center of interest with color, value and edge work. A step-by-step approach to modeling form and seeing color will enhance your ability to self-analyze future works for trouble areas.

About Margaret:

Margaret McWethy, Impressionist painter, studied art history and biology at Swarthmore College. Since graduating she has sought teachers who base their art on training, careful observation, and understanding.  Master colorist, Henry Hensche and nationally known portrait artist Cedric Egeli, have been influential.
